About GBI

We are not here to make the project sound easier. We are here to make it clearer.

We built GBI to remove assumptions from electrical scope. Every project starts with the same discipline: define the constraint, verify the load, document the path, and stay available when the path changes.

Operating stance

Engineering is documented reasoning that can survive review, not optimism dressed up as speed.

Relationship model

We work best when the engineering team stays attached through corrections, revisions, and install handoff.

Enterprise workflow experience

Founded by a former Sunrun design-outsourcing lead, with project experience tied to Sunrun, SunPower, and Sunnova.

Completed work

700+

Residential projects completed with permit and revision support.

Coverage

50-state

Licensed engineering support available nationwide.

Response standard

We respond to every email, usually the same day.

Founder accountability

Anthony Gianfrancesco

Anthony leads GBI with engineering rigor shaped by academic research, enterprise solar operations, and direct accountability through permit approval and installation handoff.

Dual BS degrees in mathematics and physics from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, followed by an MS in physics.
Research experience spanning WPI, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, the University of Tennessee, and NIST in Gaithersburg.
Published work in photovoltaics, atomic-scale imaging, thin films, and machine learning for materials science, with 329 citations.
Previously led outsourced design operations at Sunrun, managing quality, standards, and revision workflows at scale, including permit approval and installation handoff.
That combination of research discipline and field execution now shapes GBI's engineering standards, partner support, and long-term operating model.

Operating model

How GBI works once we are inside the job.

You should know exactly how we work: direct engineer contact, explicit constraints, and continuity through revisions.
01

Start with the customer constraint

Service limits, site conditions, owner intent, and approval risk come before stylistic preference.

02

Verify code and capacity

We calculate the path, identify bottlenecks, and document what has to be true for the job to work.

03

Issue documents people can trust

Permit-ready is not enough if installers, reviewers, or project managers still have to guess.

04

Stay available through revisions

When the project changes, the engineering relationship should not disappear at first issue.

Why partners stay

The relationship is built around clarity, not optimism.

Every engagement is built around clarity, not optimism. The commitments below show what that looks like in practice.

Credentials + coverage

Proof that the operating model is already built for recurring work.

Jurisdiction coverage, response standard, and workflow familiarity are part of the value. We surface them clearly so they are easy to evaluate.

Nationwide support

Licensed engineering support available in all 50 states for recurring solar and electrical work.

Workflow familiarity

Experience tied to Sunrun, SunPower, and Sunnova informs how drawings, revisions, and standards are handled.

Response standard

Every email gets a response, usually the same day, so active jobs do not stall in a queue.

Work with GBI

Talk to the engineer who will be on the job with you.

If you want an engineering partner who will define the risk, explain the bottleneck, and stay attached through revisions, send us the active scope.
